Ken and Colin’s dreams of US Open success were dashed as they lost out in the first round of the US Open to the Argentinian pairing of Horacio Zeballos & Eduardo Schwank 6-2 7-6.

The Argentines made a fast start breaking Ken’s serve twice to wrap up the first set. They continued to pressure early in the second but Flemski managed to stay solid and stay in contention. At 4-3 they fashioned 2 break points but couldn’t convert and the set inevitably ended in a tie break. Unfortunately the Argentines were the ones to hold their nerve and they edged the tie break 9-7 to move onto the second round.

Ken and Colin now head back to Europe to defend their Atp title in Metz.
