Flemski for Davis Cup

Great news for Ken today as Davis Cup Captain John Lloyd confirmed that he would be in the Davis Cup line up to face Lithuania next week. Ken will join Colin as the doubles pairing. Dan Evans and James Ward will play the singles.

The tie takes place March 5-7 with the winner playing the winner of the Ireland/Turkey match.

For the 3rd tournament in a row, Flemski managed to draw a home team pairing, this time Taylor Dent and Ryan Harrison. Ken and Colin had the first opportunity to break before the set headed into the tiebreaker. The lads got up an early mini-break but the US pairing hit back, winning 4 points in a row and ultimately the set. The second started better for Ken and Colin as they manufactured early break points but once again they couldn’t take them. The Americans then earned their first break points and scored on the third attempt and continued to hold serve to claim a second round berth.

Ken and Colin now turn their attentions to the Davis Cup tie in Lithuania.

Flemski in action

Ken and Colin’s hopes of getting back to winning ways in Marseille were thwarted by the local pairing of Arnaud Clement and Nicolas Mahut. The French pair sneaked the first set on a tie break before breaking midway through the second to take the match.

Flemski now head back to the states to play Delray Beach.
